SAUZA MIX OFF 2008

DJ Shredder MC of St. Lucien, Quebec wins the Sauza DJ Mix Off Challenge that ran online all summer long in search of fresh and unexpected new talent.

We teamed up with MySpace and Stanton DJ Equipment to host the contest virtually across Canada,” said Franco Timpano, Brand Manager of Sauza Tequila for Maxxium Canada. “The competition successfully extended to Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver where each participant created their own set and posted them on their MySpace profile.”

The winner, DJ Shredder MC (Jean-Francois Jacques), quickly became recognized in the 1990’s rave scene for his eclectic style and dynamic sets known for sampling with vocals and with old classics of the 1980's. He was also one of the first to use filters while spinning live. With an extremely strong collection of 10000 vinyl records and compact discs, he began composing his own pieces. In 2005 he published the album "Ground". Recently he released ET "Eclektika", with an electronic house sound available for downloading at www.isound.com/dj_shredder_mc. Dj Shredder MC won this summer’s Sauza Tequila DJ Mix Off Challenge and promises to tour with his new material to keep his nightlife fans dancing.
