Hey everyone. I'm a 22 year old singer/guitarist/mandolin player and I'm looking to start up a new musical project, but, because I don't have the co-ordination to be a one man band, I need to find some musicians. I'm looking for people who believe that it's not about image or look but it's all about the music. I want people that would put on a great show in front of 5 people just as soon as they would for 500.
As of now, I kind of need everything, musician wise. I absolutely need a lead guitarist, bassist, keyboardist and drummer, but I'd also love to find some strings, some horns, melodicas, ukeleles, sequencers, whatever. If you have songs written and want to bring them in to play as part of the project, I'd love to play them. Guys, girls, doesn't matter to me, I'd love to find a female voice to play off of mine and sing some leads as well, but it doesn't really matter.
Obviously, I want to have a great time doing this and have a group that gets along and we all enjoy playing together...the kind of band that can go out after practice and get beers and just hang out outside of a band context. That being said, however, I'm looking for people who are committed - multiple practices a week, as many shows as possible, recordings, etc.
My influences are bands like Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, The National, The Hold Steady, Islands, Talking Heads, Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, Ted Leo, White Rabbits, and so on. As I said, I'm 22 so someone around my age would probably be best, but I don't really care as long as we're on the same wavelength when it comes to music. Anyways, if this has caught anyone's interest, please give me a shout at firstname.lastname@example.org
and let me know the kind of project that you're looking for and then let's get a beer and talk shop and make something amazing.
