The BEE GEES recently released box set “The Studio Albums 1967-68” is a 6 disc jam packed BEE GEES fan dream come true.In an era where artists are rushing to release box sets of rarely released tracks to entice fans to spend money on a set rather then download, it’s a challenge for a label to create the most complete and exciting collection.
Featuring over 2 dozen previously unissued tunes, early/alternate versions of selected songs, this definitely is worth the hard earned dough. Each mini set of 2 discs has detailed info about the band drama at that time, along with awesome studio, stage, street pics and rare album cover pictures.
BEE GEES 1st contains a great history of the brother’s life and formation into an explosive icon followed up by the evolution of the BEE GEES experience. For an avid fan or a new curious music lover, this set can satisfy anyone looking for some solid quality music. There is enough info in each leaflet to get an understanding of the era and the group as individuals to appreciate them on a more intimate and personal level.
Having never before experienced any BEE GEES tunes from the 60’s, I wasn’t sure what to expect.Folk like British 60’s pop similar to that of most 60’s bands of the era, the BEE GEES were able to stand alone so popular with their rich lyrics and dynamic nature. It’s fantastic to hear the mellow beginning of a band who later emerged into disco founders; a whole new perspective for certain!
Worth the $ for a fan of the BEE GEES, any fan of 60’s music or anyone who wants to add to their legends music collection.
