BILLY BROWN DUO
March 27, 2008 @ Ye Old Orchard (de la Montagne)

Upon entering Ye Old Orchard this Thursday, it might seem as though any regular band was playing off in the distance. However by leaning in a little closer it was no doubt quite the opposite! Originally armed with nothing but a simple guitar, the vocals of Billy Brown are no stranger to the Montreal music scene. It’s no wonder seeing as the same voice once fronted the now deceased, Mind Drive.

Recently having added a new member, Adrian Vigliotti, behind drums, Billy Brown (together known as the Billy Brown Duo) graced the stage of Ye Old Orchard in an exclusive performance. The night consisted of an explosive blend of crowd pleasers from top 40 charters and classic rockers. Among his covers, Brown chose a mix of everything from Blues Traveller to Collective Soul, Joe Cocker to Pink Floyd, Live to Sublime. Not only did he revive and rework lost classics — essentially taking his audience on a journey of memories through the past — he also seamlessly interweaved several original works including the celebrated “Jiggly Pants”.

What makes Brown’s music so original is the passion and life experiences behind each and every lyric and note! Truly, Billy Brown is an act to keep an eye out for.
