The groove
of the "Flower" was definitively present in
the air that night at Quartier Latin as Cheryl Sim performed
tracks from her latest album Heavy Petal. Each
song carried her unique recipe of smooth jazz and funky
RnB. The chill ambiance decorated the room backed up
with her extremely well balanced band including conga
player, keyboard player, backup singer, bassist and
drummer.
She kept
the crowd swaying back and forth and hypnotized by her
catchy melodies and phrases. But who can resist
not to throw in a little hip swaying and toe tapping
sound of disco, as she left the keys to the side and
got up to diva up the tempo.
If you're
up for a funky mysterious night, I recommend you catch
her act if you get the chance.
Her website
is still under construction but you can keep your eye
on it at www.cherylsim.com
