Crash Delicate @ Café Campus, April 23rd 2004
review by Lex
Crash Delicate is the prodigy child of Martin
Dam and Caroline Ethier. Blending progressive rhythm foundations and
pop melody sounds, the creative duo blooms out the intriguing collection of
songs from their recent album A Canyon Between. Their backing band members
are very tight and probably some of Montreal's top professional musicians,
which comes in handy when you want to emphasize dramatic pauses and break
beats in your compositions. While most modern progressive bands tend
to exhaustingly layer their music with countless guitar and drum solos,
Crash Delicate mixes in a colorful variety of mild to jungle techno beats
and a hauntingly inviting vocal and piano combo to create an almost
supernatural audio experience.
With their recent success inclusion to the
Canadian Music Week 2004 (CMW), their drive and focus to make an impact in the
industry will surely attract audiences to their melodic and artistic entity that
they call Crash Delicate.
