Inverness @ L'Alizé, March 21, 2004

review by Psyko

So finally, there I was, with a new MMS member (dunno what her user name is but ask me about her and i'll tell you all her dirty secrets). I was high and drunk off my ass and couldn't fight hard enough against one of the band members who insisted on buying us drinks, but hey, at least I made it to the Campus! You asses are tryin' ta kill me?! Well, what came close to that was Jillian's singing in this band. Holy! She's got an amazingly powerful melodic voice and can kick whatever-her-face-is from Evanescence. After some twists and turns along the way the band was finally formed and not even that long ago (Aug. 2003 saw the completion of the band). This was their 2nd overall show (first one being an opening for Jaded and Within at L'Alize) but their first headlining one which is weird 'cause I've heard a lot of good stuff about the band before ever seeing them.I'm sure you're gonna see a lot more of these folks around. The style of music? Well, they've got 4 guys in the band a chick lead singer. FINALLY! So, you can use your imagination, but in Jillian's words, they exploit their diversity to create their own sound. As quoted off their website "Inverness is working to make a name for themselves. Until then they will continue to surge through the local scene."so this means they'll be playing around Montreal for the time being and they should be launching a demo early next year. What keeps coming back to mind is just how nice these guys are. It's unreal. Never was I treated this well and thanked this much for coming to a show, and writing a review! Anyways enough of me, do visit their website NOW: http://invernessmontreal.tripod.com
