MARIE-CHANTAL TOUPIN @ BELL CENTER, MARCH 26, 2004

review by Lex

The lovely Rockeuse from Rosemont packed up The Bell Center on March 26th as she poured her heart out onto the crowd with her sweet crystal voice. Everything about Marie-Chantal Toupin was genuine that electrifying night, from her interaction with the crowd to her vibrant stage presence in her white pantsuit outfit.

Emotions filled the air as she mentions to the crowd about her early dreams of one day playing at the Bell Center. It was hard not to notice the glittering moist eyes of Marie-Chantal as she took a couple of minutes on stage to gaze in full thankfulness at her adoring fans. “C’est grâce à vous que je suis ici ce soir, merci” she exclaims as her sheer honesty towards her audience earned her a deafening roaring crowd and a standing ovation.

Marie-Chantal disappeared off stage as an extensive skin pounding drummer showdown went on, only to come back with a bang. The sound of pyrotechnics echoing the room announced the return of the still energetic power flower. This time wearing a darker, more rock n’ roll outfit, perfect for raging out “Maudit Bordel”. The crowd went nuts for this one as the house lights flashed their participation.

We wish her all the best at the Junos this year!

Big thanks to Guylen Fortin from
TOX Records for making this all happen.
