Pacer, Tantrum and 3 mile scream @ Foufounes Électriques, February 23, 2004

review by Black

It was a crazy Monday night as Psyko and I checked out Pacer at Foufounes Electriques. Along, we had the chance to watch Tantrum and 3 mile scream, 2 HEAVY metal bands. Boy they were heavy and I loved it!

Pacer were as usual, GREAT, honestly I see so much talent behind our 5 members. With Gopal’s crazy drum beats (he’s definitely one of the Best drummers I’ve seen perform), Nic’s beautiful voice, Ceasar’s sick melodies, not to forget Nicholas and Paul; this band is complete. All they need is support, recognition and I know they will make it big. They mostly played tracks from their album: Involuntary movement that I would suggest everyone to have. The style is super creative and surely unique. I really enjoy listening to you guys, thank you.

The second band to go on stage was Tantrum, a band that’s been around since 98. They lit the stage; I was amazed by the speed of their music. Dennis on drums was playing double pedal, I was astonished by how fast he was, wowwwwwww (I’d die to know his secret techniques…J) Dax (guitar/vocals) and Rob (base/vocals) were both singing while playing fast hardcore melodies, I was really impressed by the quality of the tracks on such a speed. I am sure many people dislike this type of music, because they aren’t capable to distinguish loud music for its creativity and style but are used to a certain tempo. I believe music is an expression of feelings, and hell our 3 musicians expressed themselves. What a talent!

Our last band to perform was 3 mile scream, another “metal core” (as the press calls it!) band with crazy musicians. Mike (base), Alex (guitar), Norm (drums) and Matt (vocals) have been playing together for almost 2 years, but were members in other established bands before. The stage was on fire, they really exploded, not to forget Matt’s deadly voice!
Fans of rock and heavy metal, they sense the vibe of heavy music, as it’s a way for them to let out how they feel.
As long as an artist is true about his/her creation, it’s a delight to enjoy that creation too. It’s personal, and this is what music is all about: expression of feelings.
Well done guys, honestly, I wish you all the best.
