Sex, Drugs, and Rock n' Roll! That's the kind of energy you can always expect wherever you catch Montreal's own The Sins perform. Tonight, it was for the Max et Gigi Reçoivent variety show at Le Lion D'Or.
Armed with a plutonium packed female lead singer, Sindy, and four rock solid musicians (Plear: lead guitar, Simon B: rhythm guitar, "Boorkie": bass, Marc Gilbert: drums), The Sins detonate the initially quiet posh crowd sitting around this cabaret-style event into a screaming mayhem. Just another event to prove that these guys have the stage presence to preach Rock to whomever they encounter.
"Giving it all to your audience" is no surprise for The Sins as they will continue to open for Alice Cooper in October on the rest of his Canadian tour. Sorry to all you "creative musical neo-hippies" out there, it takes more than your broken bongos and sweatrags to head up this kind of gig, and The Sins deliver.
Keep your eyes peeled boys and girls as they are working heavily on releasing their first full length album in 2007. They got my two horns up \m/ \m/ !

Max et Gigi Reçoivent is a great twist on reviving the classic variety show concept incorporating music, comedy, multimedia, and other performing arts into a totally live event.
Comedian Christopher Williams was also amongst the guests. Performing his quick and smart humour, he tickled the audience without mercy all the way to the last row.
