Bret Michaels @ Clifton Park, December 4 2003
By Valigirrl
No, Bret Michaels wasn’t in Montreal. A diehard 80’s fan, I made the 3 ½ hour drive to Clifton Park, NY on December 4th. It was well worth the drive. He just finished touring in support his new solo album, Songs of Life. After seeing him perform with Poison at the Bell Centre to a few thousand people back in August, this show was a treat. The club, Northern Lights, was an extremely intimate venue, as there were approximately two hundred people in the audience. With high energey as usual, you wouldn’t never have guessed that Bret Michaels was actually suffering from the flu.
The set list was half solo tunes, half Poison tunes and one surprise cover.
- Nothin' But A Good Time
- Menace To Society
- Good Love
- Bittersweet
- I Won't Forget You
- Raine
- Loaded Gun
- Something To Believe In
- Forgiveness
- Your Mama Don't Dance
- Every Rose Has It's Thorn
-Knocking on Heaven’s Door (Dylan cover)
- Party Rock Band
- Unskinny Bop
- Fallen Angel
- Talk Dirty To Me
American Anthem were certainly the right band to support Bret Michaels on this tour. Close your eyes and you wouldn’t know the difference between Christy Calabro and CC Deville. Opening bands were Bad Rehab, a local cover band, and The Erotics, a three-piece abrasive hard rock/gutter glam band who has played the annual Cruefest at the Whisky in Hollywood, CA.
Watch for another leg of this tour in the spring, with Canadian dates.
