From
the West, The Waking Eyes rocked the packed up black
box of Foufounes Electriques on May 19. Their
energetic tunes attracted local headbangers who are
usually moving to the beat of a different drum at this
venue.
Their sound had an intense amount of drive without turning
it into the usual distortion puddle of mud that most
bands get carried away with. Rusty Matyas, Matt Peters,
and Myron Schulz equally share the work behind the album
as they share the stage.
You could observe a special connection on stage which
shows off in their incredible sense of musical unity.
With catchy melodies and a tidal wave or pure rock,
they are sure to leave their footprint on the emerging
Canadian music scene.
