Let's try this once again. 22 year old death metal vet, late 30s looking to get back into it. I play guitar and do vox. Looking for Drummer, bass player and lead guitarist. No experience necessary. Just have your own gear and be willing to learn. Influences are old deicide, morbid angel , cryptopsy, suffocation and other old brutal shit from 90s. Not interested in any metal core, tech or melodeath bullshit.
P.S; i live in gatineau but I'm in montreal every two weeks. 8195927408
Give Matt a shout

Finally got some videos of me playing bass.
Uploading them to youtube... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsyk_eQjhFTSPehjLc1GlGg Update: It's only been a month since I uploaded those videos and I'm miles away from that. Timing mistakes was the first thing I noticed and went to work on. The day those videos were shot, I had only 2 hours in which to get down as many takes of as many songs as I would. My photographer friend could not offer me any more time. I'm now in the process of getting the hardware I need to do videos at home. Have all the items as a wish-list in my Amazon account. So, in about a month or two I'll start uploading new stuff. In the meantime, reply below, if you have an idea for something to do. I don't have a set agenda. I could join a band. I could join a single musician. It could be serious business, with gigs. It could be jamming for self-amusement. It could be playing at metro stations. I don't care what we do, as long as it involves playing music that I like and enjoy to play. |

In the Bassists forum, for example, there's a posting asking for bassist and/or keyboardist, with the status "waiting approval". Clicking on it says that the post doesn't exist in this forum.
But the date of the posting is from March 2017. So, it has been waiting for approval for almsost 3 months already? Aren't there people maintaining this website? Also, the captcha verification is ridiculously hard to read. I have to click on Request Another Image like 20 to 50 times before I see something I can tell what the numbers and letters are. The ones in negative are impossible to read, with a purple color on a blue background, it is simply impossible for me to read them. |

SINGER, BASSIST & GUITARIST WANTED
We're a guitarist and a drummer in their late 20's with a bunch of instrumental compositions who are looking to complete the songs and the band with the objective of recording an album and grinding local shows, then see where we go from there. We both have been playing music for 20+ years in academic or recreational settings and are influenced by all the genres and subgenres of the last 15+ years in alternative music in general. We've been going to shows and festivals for almost 20 years, we keep updated on the music scene, etc. We have a jam space open 24/7 on the Montreal south shore and we're constantly working on bringing more gear and ideas around the table. If you're motivated and have time to work on a project, hit us up so we can discuss a little! We're both fr/eng billingual and pretty laid back, no egos or attitude but we're serious about what we want to accomplish. We're looking to run the project like a startup, market our product and try to go for it all the way, even if times are sketchy for that sort of thing. We still wanna try our luck and have fun while doing it! There's a little scene revival going on and we think it's a good time to rock out! We both have connections and contacts in the local scene, in other provinces and the US if we ever get to that point. We're not looking for outrageously talented people, if you can play your instrument/do the job and you're chill, it's all good! Being motivated, dedicated and relatively available to play shows is paramount to this endeavor. We all have day jobs but we're itching to rock out as a sideline and see where it goes. Also being educated on that kind of style is definitely useful but not mandatory. We're looking for people who grew up with the scene or have a marked interest for that kind of stuff. Age, gender, etc. are not important as long as you can pull it off! We're also not going for the trendy metalcore, prog, djent, breakdowns & hardcore type of stuff so keep that in mind. We're into that, but we don't want to do that. We might be looking for a second guitarist too, it's not what we absolutely need right now but if you're interested, you're welcome. We're looking to wrap up an EP or LP and play shows ASAP, then continue writing as a full band. We're mainly influenced by: Blink-182, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Finch, Atreyu, Thrice, Alexisonfire, Billy Talent, Thursday, Alkaline Trio, Lagwagon, Millencolin, No Use For A Name, Rancid, Vulgaires Machins, Box Car Racer, Circa Survive, Dance Gavin Dance, Saosin, Underoath, The Used, AFI, My Chemical Romance, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember, The Story So Far, The Wonder Years, Paramore, Radiohead, Death Cab For Cutie, a lot of metal, pop, rap, hip-hop and a bunch of other stuff. Hit us up if you're down to rock P.S notre langue natale est le français alors gênez-vous pas! |

I've been playing bass for a fairly short time, about 3 years. Started because I was with a band, as singer, and bass was needed, and I had once played guitar. Typical story.
Then the band was no more, but I continued to practice on my own. 3 hours a day typical. Took out a lifetime membership in Scott's Bass Academy. My priority has been on groove and sound; --not so much on reading music, or on knowing the fret-board backwards. My practice repertoire includes songs of Steve Wonder, Led Zep, Jamiroquai, Weather Report, King Crimson, etc. I'm of the Progressive Rock/Fusion Jazz generation. Not looking at making money from music; at least not yet; but would like to get together with other musicians at least once a week, for serious music playing, though --not for smoking or time wasting. Note: I don't speak a word of French. Only English, Spanish, C++ and Fortran... |
